The Kitchen Design Trends to look out for in 2023.

When designing your new dream kitchen in 2023, it’s crucial to balance timeless features with lively colours, patterns and textures that reflect your personality and design aesthetic.

Nowadays, we demand a lot from our kitchens, because now more than ever, they are the most functional space within our homes – providing a place to cook, eat, work, rest, and entertain.

2023 is here and we are looking ahead at trends and styles that will define the new year.

For kitchen worktops, we expect to see both natural stones and quality quartz products will continue to lead the way. For paint colours, we see dusty greens and blues, as well as soft hues like terracotta, natural browns and pink tones.

Here are five of our predicted kitchen designs and ideas set to be hugely popular with homeowners in 2023…

Social Kitchen Island Design.

Kitchen islands are one of the central design features and are widely considered a worthwhile investment for any kitchen – so they are always on trend and have been for many years. But for 2023, we think that kitchen islands are evolving to become even more of a point of focus, as they become more socially centred.

In 2023, we think that kitchen island design will be tailored to incorporate even more seating, to ensure the space is completely inclusive, whether cooking, entertaining or just relaxing with the family and friends.

Natural Timber Tones in the kitchen space.

Our desire to welcome nature into our homes is undoubtedly one of the biggest interior design trends of recent years. It’s therefore, unsurprising that one of the key kitchen trends in 2023 is that of welcoming natural timber tones into the kitchen space.

Over the past few years, we have seen such a demand for timber in the kitchen, especially European oak options mixed with painted finishes.

Pulling out the blues, greens, and pinks from within marbles, granites, and other worktop surfaces is a perfect way to balance out the warmth from the wood.

Choosing a neutral wall colour would be enough to let the timber tones of cabinetry and breakfast bars take centre stage.

Practical & Stylish Worksurfaces.

As for kitchen worktops, our clients tend to specify quartz or natural stone as it is extremely durable and easy to clean and maintain. Our suppliers have an amazing selection of colours.

Many of our clients enjoy cooking and want to ensure a worksurface doesn’t stain easily which is why we think Quartz surfaces and natural stone worktops will continue to be very popular in 2023.

There are also now more sustainable options available to our clients. One of our main suppliers, Cosentino, uses a new technology called HybriQ, which combines recycled glass content, 100% renewable energy and 98% recycled water in its factory.

Pleasantly Practical Cooks Pantries.

The trend for well-organised cooks pantries is going nowhere for 2023; it’s the kitchen feature that almost every household desires.

Walk-in and designated cooks pantries with built in storage are a big trend for us at the moment. Nothing can beat that wow moment, when you open what looks like a cupboard door to expose a whole secret space behind just never gets old.

Stylish & Contemporary Handle Choice.

We have noticed that our clients continue to pay lots of attention to handles. We do a lot of Armac Martin and Buster & Punch products and we feel the demand for these manufactured goods will continue in 2023.

The Shaker door with a contemporary knurled black or brass handle is always extremely popular. We have also recently designed modern kitchens with a slab door, in a frame with contrasting gold or brass handles, which gives a much more contemporary, sleek look.

For kitchen trends in 2023 we think that we might see more new sandstone or earthier finishes coming through, reflecting our concentration on nature and the environment.

Colour wise for 2023, we think that green will remain very popular from dark greens to subtler shades such as sages will be very popular as we take inspiration from nature. We’re also seeing a real shift towards warm greys, puttys and barley colours too.

Painted kitchens are still going very strong and it’s no surprise to see that green and blue remains a popular choice, but pink is making a comeback and we have recently introduced some hues of pink in our showroom. From hot to blush pink, the demand for painted pink kitchens is certainly on the up.
