How a bespoke curved island can be the perfect addition to your luxury, designer kitchen.

At Concept Interiors we specialise in creating beautiful, bespoke designs and handmade furniture solutions for every room in your home. Here is a recent kitchen project that we have completed for our clients, Mr & Mrs Ferris. We hope that this kitchen provides inspirational ideas for different ways to incorporate gorgeous curves into your dream kitchen.

If you’ve got a good amount of space, a curved kitchen island will create the “wow factor” like no other element in the room, as you can see here. Curved cabinets or curved pilasters also work really well in high footfall areas, such as on the end of a base run on a busy route around the kitchen as there are no awkward angles for members of the household to navigate around. The curved elements of this kitchen are crucial to ensure that everything flows perfectly.

If your kitchen has a painted finish like the one we have completed here, then using 60mm chunky solid oak or walnut for the curved breakfast bar and curved base panel can emphasise its impact in the room.

If your kitchen has curved cabinetry then it is a good idea to incorporate the theme of curves throughout the rest of the room to echo your cupboards. With a few simple tricks you can use small details to create a big impact. For example, one subtle way of doing this is to include for curved end pilasters as well as curved cabinets.  The worktops then follow the curves of the cabinets and pilasters which helps unite different aspects of the room.

Curved kitchen cabinets are visually stunning as you see in this superb example, but they also need to serve the purpose of storing food and appliances that can be easily accessed. Opt for vertical handles or single knobs on curved doors for seamless integration that is both practical and elegant.
