At Concept Interiors, all of our high gloss units are made with a solid MDF core. This allows strength and durability to the product. Typically, vinyl is added to the core. This in turn allows light to reflect off the kitchen and give a stunning shine as seen in the example below.

What is Dekton?

Dekton is a long-term product for those looking to turn their kitchen into a truly unique space. It allows greater potential for installation in one solid piece with no cuts, no joints and no limits as seen in the island piece in the example below. It also has the appeal of a completely uniform surface, which fits seamlessly into very different design styles.

Dekton by Cosentino is a new and exciting product for counter top surfaces, flooring and even exterior applications such as building facades and outdoor kitchens. Dekton is a proprietary blend of quartz, porcelain and glass. It takes all of the great qualities of each raw material and fuses and compresses them together under high pressure to create a slab material with a natural appearance.

With Dekton Aura we have evolved from a single slab design to an endless symmetrical pattern. 1. You could use a blowtorch.

Dekton is entirely heat proof. Go ahead and torch your crème brulee or sear your scallops right on your countertop without having to worry about the consequences. With Dekton, there is no need to worry about thermal shock (cracking with changes in temperature). If you aren’t so fancy, and don’t do much searing, how could this be of benefit to you?  Would you like to put boiling pots of water or hot frying pans on the counter without grabbing a hot pad?  Dekton is your surface.

2. Never EVER worry about staining.

And as if being heat proof, scratch proof and stain proof weren’t enough, Dekton has more amazing properties. It is UV Resistant (can be used outdoors) and Chemical Resistant (resistant to acids and bases).
